Performance Measurement Builder

The PM Builder is an interactive tool that National Service Programs can use to develop a set of aligned performance measures. A series of drop-down menus allows programs to build a performance measurement plan that can be modified to fit the program's unique characteristics.

The following steps will assist you to use the PM Builder and access helpful documents. Choose the STEP where you want to begin. For example, are you ready to build your Performance Measurement Plan? Jump to Step 3!

STEP 4

Identify Instruments

Need an instrument to measure outputs? In addition to building your Performance Measurement Plan, the PM Builder provides sample instruments for you to measure outcomes (click here to see the current list: Outcome Instrument Samples*).

If you need an instrument to track outputs, you may find these samples helpful:

*If the PM Builder does not have the outcome instrument you need, additional outcome instrument samples are available on the Resource Center website. Go to Project STAR’s main page and search the menu to the right by choosing your program type and subtopic, “Instruments” or “Instrument Packets.” Choose a sample that is closest to what you need and modify the instrument.

STEP 5

Revise Your Performance Measurement Plan

Do you want to be sure your Performance Measurement Plan is complete? After you build your Performance Measurement Plan in the PM Builder, use the Performance Measurement Plan Checklist to determine if your plan is complete.
